Kirtan Music for the Sacred Journey to Motherhood

This CD is a collection of sacred mantra songs by Cat Matlock and the Japa Band of Asheville, NC. These particular mantras were chosen for the good energies they invoke to support pregnant mamas and their babies during this powerful time of creation and birth.

About the mantra songs:
The CD opens with mantras to Ganesha to invoke the One Who Opens the Door.

The Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is sung as an offering to mama and her baby to clear any sickness or negative karmas so that mama and baby are healthy throughout the pregnancy.

The Sita Ram song is a celebration of the union of the Divine Couple, the Holy Lovers. Om Namoh Bhagavate Vasudevaya is a mantra which means “I bow to the Divine One within you” and is a Krishna, or Vishnu, mantra. Pregnant women sing this mantra to honor the Divine Light within their baby.

Hare Krishna Maha Mantra! A celebration of the highest form of Love!

The Shri Ram Lullaby is a sweet song for rocking baby and mama to sleep while calling in the Divine Ma Sita and Divine Lord Ram. Cat sang her own baby to sleep with this song for many years.

The CD closes with the Lakshmi Gayatri Mantra. Lakshmi is heralded as the Divine Mother that blesses us with all that is good and joyful, including healthy children and a happy family.
